24 hour ban from BSN for making fun of easily agitated Talimancers = 10 hours to do this silly pic.
And those who are curious: I don't stick to any 'particular' LI I. I random pick one each time I start a new game. But if you have to know, I have a slight preference for Ashley.
Mass Effect is not a dating sim so romance is just side flavor

Thanks for viewing.
[edit] Someone wanted me to pen my thoughts on ME romances. Ok:
Liara: Really cares about Shepard, or borderline obsessed? Whether by accident or design, Bioware appears to be setting her up as the 'canon' romance. Good thing romance is OPTIONAL. I liked the personality change, honestly. Leave the inane cuteness to Tali.
Miranda: Difficult to take seriously at first, and Bioware takes the blame here. With one ass/tit shot after another, what kind of reaction are they expecting? Look past her 4 spheres however, and you'll find her personality quite deep and interesting. IMO.
Kelly: Guilty of the same crime as Jacob - being a non-dysfunctional, emotionally stable human. But gets less flak because she's female and plays the submissive role well (relaying messages = making sandwiches in the 22nd Century).
Ashley: Realistic personality, with the right balance of feminity and masculinity (that is often found in female career soldiers). Poetry did NOT turn me off. Can't complain about Bioware sexualizing her in ME3...its about time.
Tali: Deliberately designed to be cute, with no face and hence no expression; basically Hello Kitty with tits. What makes HK so appealing? She 'looks' and 'feels' whatever you think she is, so she never disappoints. Despite being heavily mutated into a fanservice prop and somehow prone to making silly decisions, she's still an ok character to me. Her hardcore fans are very fun to annoy. VERY

Jack: Typical "social worker romance plot" i.e. how to reform a bad person and make him/her love me. Having said that, I find Jack to be an interesting character with some great lines. IMO the 'go to' romance for renegade Shepards. Be a complete dick to everyone... except her.
I mostly agree with your views about them.
So my ranking list:
Number 1: Soldier Girl Ashley
Probably the woman with the best written character.
Ash is a though no-nonsense-grunt, but also loves poems, is a caring big sister and wears a pink armor.
At first she is distrustful of aliens but mostly for political reasons and because the heavy legacy of her grandpa. Ash is NOT racist, dear haters. She despises Cerberus!
Many fans bitching cause she didnt threw herself at Shepard in ME2. Well, Sheppard was back from the dead and was working with the Great Satan (also known as Illusive Man). How could Ash be sure, that this Sheppard was not a clone, a cyber zombie, a dopperlgänger or just brainwashed?
However, you got my point, Ash rulez
Number 2: Wrench Wench Tali
I like the "engineer with a shotgun" aspect of her, but not the Shepardholic.
Talis hatred and distrust towards AIs gives her a darker side, too.
Also her voice actor sounds cute.
Number 3: Tsundere Jack
Bald, tatooed chicks as love interests a rare. And she IS badass.
Maybe even a little too badass, as we are reminded of this over and over again.
And the belt bra is just ridiculous.
However, she is not a girl who needs to be saved all the time and I like for this.
Number 4: Genki Girl Kelly.
I like her Be-happy-go-lucky-attitude, especially if your considering she works for TIM.
At the other hand she is mostly your servant girl and damsel in distress.
And your personal stripper, duh.
Number 5: Cute Scientist Liara
Well, I have nothing against her but also nothing in favour of her.
My main problem is, that BioWare constantly shoves down our throats, that everyone loves asari, so Shepard should love Liara.
I like her as a character but not so much as a love interest.
Number 6: Ice Queen Miranda
Okay, I confess that I enjoyed that splendid view at first.
But eventually everyone gets tired of all this butt & boobs shots.
Yeah, they tried to give her a tragic past and hidden deeps (I´m talking of course of Oriana) but then she is still Miss "Goes into battle, while dressed for fan convention".
But I'm sure there are tons of female artists out there who are ME fans.
